These homes are conversions, and that is made clear during the introduction, during the buying process and to anyone with eyes. There is no way anyone could possibly believe these are new construction! But for the price, in this location, with the finishes provided, these are great homes. I think, as usual, only the discontented speak up, so means the other owners, the ones who enjoy living at Highgate are quiet.
Every home has a new HVAC equipment, new windows, granite countertops in the kitchen and new, black and stainless kitchen appliances including refrigerator and solid surface cooktop. All the floor coverings are new: some floors are laminate and others are engineered flooring in the living room, dining room and kitchen areas. All bedrooms have carpet and all bathrooms have ceramic tile floors.
The amenities are very nice, but there is no tennis. Otherwise, it would get 5 stars in the amenities area.
The homeowners here are smart, active, and interested in maintaining their property values and establishing friendships with their neighbors. They have cookouts by the pool and enjoy pot luck get togethers.
If you expect perfection, don't buy at Highgate or anywhere else. Perfection doesn't exist. But if you want a great location, great finishes, great amenities, great neighbors all at a great price, Highgate is the place for you.

This community was converted by a developer, Roswell Asociates, LLC. This develper cut many corners in refirbishing these old apartments to what they are calling townhouses/flats.
The construction company hired by the developer, but laminate wood flooring in units with no subfloors, installed kitchen sinks and set granite countertops on the counters before glue was dried, so now the sinks are falling in. The exterior and interior electric is not grounded, therefore causing popping through units and also many owners are having huge expenses replacing/repairing these things.
New A/C units, but there are no returns in the second floors and the A/C is so loud downstairs when trying to watch TV or talk on the phone.
You certainly don't get your money's worth for the price that is paid and the advertisements make it sound like these are totally new units. Big surprises after you get in there and trying to start enjoying your life!
